Born and raised on the Northwest Side of Chicago, Eryk Folmer is a product of the Chicago Public Schools. He attended Lane Tech College Prep. After High School, Eryk attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he received a BA in History. Eryk studied law at DePaul University, where he also earned a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law.
Upon graduating, Eryk spent the first several years of his legal career as an associate attorney under the tutelage of Stephen J. Schlegel at Stephen J. Schlegel, Ltd. There, Eryk handled complex civil litigation including class action defense work in matters across the country and litigating an international airline disaster.
In 2015, Eryk started Folmer Law. Folmer Law is a general practice firm that focuses on residential and commercial real estate closings and ancillary matters, consumer defense, contractual disputes, civil litigation and appeals, and business formation. Folmer Law also acts as general counsel for several small companies.
Eryk is married with two young daughters. When not practicing law or spending time with his family, Eryk likes to stay active by playing golf and basketball.
